Santiago's Bodega, Orlando
Jack went to dinner with friends last night at Santiago's Bodega on Virginia Avenue. The place was packed with all the attractive people in Orlando. The food was tapas style and all very good. Our favorites were the ceviche and balsamic brussel sprouts. We finished off with the bread pudding, which was to die for. All in all, a fun night.

Dixie Crossroads, Titusville, FL
Joan made it to Dixie Crossroads, one of our all time favorites, this week. Here's what she had to say:
Dinner at Dixie Crossroads...Royal Red Shrimp...the cadillac of shrimp. They never see the light of day because they prefer the deep water of the Gulf sometimes as deep as a half a mile. THEY ARE DELICIOUS!!!

South + York, Winter Springs
South + York, Winter Springs
Usually, the 3J's dine out during the week. This week, due to scheduling, they went out on a Saturday night. It was the night after Valentine's Day, so we made sure to make a reservation on Open Table. We called to see if they had a dog friendly patio and were told that they usually do, but because it was cool, the patio wasn't open.
The restaurant is located in Winter Springs Village. It has kind of an industrial, loft type vibe. Concrete floors, exposed ductwork in the ceiling and garage type doors that can be opened when the weather is nice. We arrived a couple of minutes early and the restaurant was quite busy, so we waited in the small bar area. The energy was high, but it wasn't too loud.
The wine list was decent. We had a bottle of Carmenere and started off with goat cheese balls. They were lightly battered and drizzled with honey. Very unique and delicious. Joan had giant scallops with mashed sweet potatoes. John had short rib with green beans and Jack had lamb loin with wilted spinach. All three of us described our dinner as DELICIOUS! We, of course passed on dessert.
Here is Joan's description of apps and her entree:
The 3 J's had a yummy dinner at South and York at the Winter Springs Town Center. I enjoyed seared scallops with mashed sweet potatoes and wild mushrooms in a madeira reduction. And the tempura goat cheese with honey and cracked black pepper was a great appetizer that we shared.
Our friend Adam was our server. The service was a relaxed style and of course it was fun catching up with him!
We were very impressed with South + York and all three of us gave it a hearty thumbs up!

Three J's Dining Adventures
Hello, we are the three J's, and we like to dine out in the Central Florida area. Our names are Joan, John and Jack (Sometimes, Sam the dog likes to join us as well.) We usually try to pick places that we haven't been to before. This blog is really a way for us to remember where we have been and what we thought. We certainly are not professional food critics or even "foodies". It will be interesting to see how this evolves and we will probably add some of our past experiences as well.
